Video Games

Video Game Pitch Meeting (1979) -- powered by Cracked.com

Were the video games of our youth carrying hidden messages? I remember Mario, the game in which you eat mushrooms, (styled after a poisonous type of hallucinogens) collect shiny coins, (presumably to buy coke) collect trippy stars and flowers that make you harder to kill, and jump on the heads of goombas, (maybe a derogatory term for Italians?) different types of reptilian creatures, sometimes with wings, various other creatures and items.
Really, take a look
I think cracked.com might've not been very far off the point.
